About Derek
My name is Derek Ogden. my dad got me my first go kart at the age of 12. I started racing competitively in asphalt road course at the age of 14. I caught on very quickly and became very successful immediately winning all but one race my first year at Atwater kart track winning my first championship. The next year I started racing for Invader Karts and won all but two races at Atwater kart track winning my 2nd championship and I was consistently in the top ranks in IKF regional standings. My third year racing go karts I once again won all but two races at Atwater kart track on my way to 3rd conservative championship and again I was in the top ranks of IKF regional standings. Unfortunately after my third season I was unable to continue racing. After a 12 year hiatus from racing I got back into the racing scene and started pitting for several drivers at Merced Speedway weekly IMCA dirt track racing. Now after 16 years out of the seat I am back behind the wheel starting off in go karts but now racing dirt oval. After 1 season in kart dirt oval I have now started racing hobby stocks on dirt oval.
