(PETERSEN MEDIA- Merced, CA)- While 2020 has made racing nearly nonexistent at Merced Speedway, the track is pleased to announce another big event on the horizon as the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series will make their first ever appearance at the facility on November 24th and 25th along with 600cc Micro’s and Winged 360’s.
“It has been a tough year, but to bring in the ASCS National Tour back in March, and now to get the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series in November is really special,” S&S Promotions GM Doug Lockwood said. “We are still finalizing the details, and hoping to obtain additional sponsors, but we are really excited for this opportunity.”
As it sits now Tuesday November 24th will act as a practice day for the Midgets, and a full event for the Micro 600’s. Wednesday night will see the Winged 360’s join the card for a complete racing program, as the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series will also compete in a non-points paying complete program for the first time ever at the Central California bullring.
With the event just coming together earlier this week the Midget race will pay a standard USAC purse as of now, however the track is seeking additional marketing partners.
“We want this to be a fun two-day event, so we are looking at a couple of different avenues on how to bolster this first ever show at Merced Speedway,” Lockwood added. “We will release more details for the Micro and Winged 360 race as well, we just wanted to get word out so people can mark the date on their schedules.”
Currently the Merced Speedway grandstands remain closed, but both nights will stream LIVE on FloRacing.
